What is Tally?

Tally is a type of software that is used to keep track of financial transactions and accounts. It helps people, especially business owners, to manage their financial records in an organized and efficient way. It includes features like recording sales and purchases, generating invoices and financial reports, calculating taxes, and keeping track of bank transactions. The goal of using Tally is to make financial management easier and more accurate.


Backbone: Any companies backbone is Accounting.

Financial year start from March to April.

































  1.  How to change company name address and more?

    • Go to Company Info (alt + f3)
    • go to Alter Enter (use alter mode for changing company details or updation)
      Enter
    • now change as per your requirement.


  2.  way to delete a company?
    • Go to alter mode like above and
    • press Alt + D key 
    • Hit the enter.
      Done
    • under one-line ===> go to alter mode and press Alt + D key and enter.

  3.  way 2 to delete a company?
    • go to local drive find tally folder and delete by company number.




  4.  way to stop a company?
    • go to shut down option 
    • select the company (make sure you select right company by company number)
    • Enter.

    • Shortcut ===> Alt + F1 to shutdown the company.
       
  5.  select Options:
    •  select Options allow to select a company and view the company.

  6.  Company info.
    • go to company info by pressing Alt + F1.



  7. What is accounting?
    Day to day activities of our business transactions which helps to maintain business in a proper way that is called accounting.



  8.  Type of Accounting?

    Personal Account: 
    All persons, society, bank account, are personal account.
    Like: Jessica Ac, Vin Diesel traders Ac, Bank of America Ac etc.

    Real Account: A Real account is an account that represents assets, liabilities, and capital.
    Like: Cash Account, Building Ac, Furniture Ac etc.

    Nominal Account:

    A nominal account refers to an account that represents expenses, losses, gains, and income. Nominal accounts are used to record transactions related to the day-to-day operations of a business, such as sales, purchases, salaries, rent, and advertising. The balance of a nominal account is closed at the end of each accounting period and is transferred to the income and loss account. Nominal accounts in Tally are maintained in the nominal ledger and are used to prepare financial statements such as profit and loss statement, which provides information on a company's revenue, expenses, and net profit over a specific period of time.



    Nominal Accounts demo:
        Sales Account,
        Purchase Account,
        Rent Account,
        Advertising Account,
        Salaries Account,
        Miscellaneous Expense Account,
        Miscellaneous Income Account, etc.

    Tally is accounting software that supports various types of accounting including:

    1. Financial Accounting: Keeping record of transactions for financial reporting.
    2. Cost Accounting: Recording, classifying and summarizing costs to evaluate the performance of a business.

    3.  Inventory Accounting: Tracking of the quantity, cost, and value of goods in stock.

    4.  Sales Tax Accounting: Recording and reporting of sales tax payments.
    5. Payroll Accounting: Management of employee salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions.
    6. Project Accounting: Tracking and managing the financial aspects of a specific project.

    Tally can be customized to meet the specific requirements of different businesses.





  9. Current Assets: Cash amount or bank account amount are current assets.

  10. Fixed Assets: These assets are those asset that we don't buy or sell regularly. We sell or buy it  for long time and that is called Fixed Assets.
    Example: Buying PC for Institute, buying car, land and building.

    There are two types of Fixed Assets:
    i. Tangible Assets: Tangible is that we can touch or visible. like furniture, computer, machinery, land and building etc.

    ii. Intangible Assets: Company name, trade mark, registry etc are intangible. These are not visible.



  11. Group:
    • Go to account info
    •  Go to Group




  12. Indirect Expenses: Jitne bhi expenses office pe hota hay wo Indirect expenses kaha jata hay.
    Example: Telephone expenses, Rent Expenses,electricity expenses etc.


  13. Direct Expenses: Factory pe jo expenses hota hay wo direct expenses kaha jata hay.
    Example:



  14. Ledger:
    • Go to account info
    •  Go to Ledger
    • Go to Create



  15. Voucher Entry:
  16. Date entry: Press F2

Note:

  • Use Esc key to go back and Enter key to go in.
  • Remember company name by number also because tally allow same company name.
